Smoke Alarms Australia acquires competitor

In February 2019, Smoke Alarms Australia completed the acquisition of the NSW and ACT operations of a competitor, Smoke Alarm Solutions. The transaction was funded by an equity investment from the principals of Merchant Place and its syndicate of family office co-investors.

SAA is Sydney-based, with a national field force. The business installs and inspects smoke alarms in residential rental properties, ensuring compliance with legislation.

Smoke Alarms Australia is a B2B service provider, whose customers are primarily real estate agents with “rental rolls” of many properties. SAA services approximately 175,000 properties each year on a subscription basis.
